Ink harvest re-hatched

Now that spring has well and truly sprung, I have re-hatched my ink harvest.

My original "Harvest" word-art was done a few years ago when I had just fallen in love with ink. It was rushed for a project and I didn't spend the time on it that I would have liked to.

Lately, I had been feeling like I was at an impasse with drawing, painting and digital, and I realised that I hadn't just played with ink for too long.
Fuelled by the impetuous energy of the spring reboot, I decided to go back to basics with my favourite dip pens and scratch away with some hatching techniques and to revisit this project with a hand a little more ink fluent.

My ink illustrations are still far from where I would like them to be, but just having a play has nourished the love I have for ink and those scratchy pens. There are some pens that just don't work for me on some days, but on another day I can't put them down, I just accept this now and know a bad nib today will amaze me another day, it may be lame but the fun-damentals really do remind you of the fun and why it's your passion.
